Scavenger hunts as company and team events

A scavenger hunt is an interesting mix of self-guided city tour, puzzle tour and outdoor escape game. You walk through the old town and solve puzzles at the most beautiful sights as part of our exciting story. Your smartphone will guide you to the various stations and through the story.

Hint-Caching scavenger hunts are suitable for the following corporate events, among others:

1. Select the appropriate city and the desired language from the list above.
2. Think about how many people you would like to play with and how many groups you will be in (max. 5 players per group).
3. Please fill out the contact form on this page completely.
   
4. Depending on your requirements, you will receive information, an offer or a booking confirmation with an invoice including VAT.
5. If you make a booking, please pay the invoice by bank transfer, credit card or Paypal.
6. You will receive the following documents from us:
   1. Brief instructions on how to log in and out and how to try it out so that everything works on the day of the event.
   2. Information on the different game modes (small group, large groups with each other or large groups against each other).
   3. Certificates for participants to print out as PDFs.
   4. The exact start and end point.
7. At least one week before the event, please send us an e-mail address for each group so that we can create access to the game for you with the individual login data and send it to you.
   
8. On the day of the game, come to the starting point of the respective game with your team and at least one charged smartphone (with internet access).
   
9. Log into the game for each group using the access data from our emails.
10. Read the rules of the game aloud and start the scavenger hunt with the introduction to the story.
11. Our game takes you from puzzle station to puzzle station through the old town, where you solve the puzzles at the sights.
12. At the end, you solve the final puzzle and the game is won.

This is up to you. However, as we have to manually generate the game accesses with the login data for each game group, we ask you to complete your booking at least one week before the team event. The invoice must also be paid in advance.

If you have booked a scavenger hunt but decide at short notice that you would rather explore a different city, that's no problem!

We offer you the option of rebooking to another city free of charge. All you have to do is send us an e-mail to info@hint-caching.de at least 7 days before the planned date of the game, as we have to make the rebooking manually.

We offer you the opportunity to adjust the number of participants and the invoice free of charge up to one week before the event. After that, we will set up the game accesses and the game groups are fixed, so that no more changes are possible.

Thanks to our fully digital concept, the costs are significantly lower than those of our competitors, who have personnel and room costs. The scavenger hunt is carried out by you with your own smartphones or tablets, which means that we only incur low costs. This means we can offer you a great experience at a low cost.

You can simply start on another day if you haven't started the game yet. If you are already on the road, you can pause the game at any time and continue later or on another day.

We recommend that a maximum of 5 people play per group. This ensures that everyone can hear everything and participates well in the game. If there are more than 5 people, several groups are formed and a game account with login details is created for each group.

If there are several groups, you have the option of playing with or against each other:

• Either you start a few minutes apart and see which group was the fastest.
• Or you can start at the same time and the fastest group wins. But be careful that the groups don't tell each other the solutions.
• If you want to play together, then all groups start at the same time and help each other with the solutions if necessary.

All you need is one or two of your own smartphones or tablets with internet access per game group. In the dark, we recommend an additional flashlight.

The scavenger hunt involves walking through the city. You should therefore be able to walk about 2 to 3 kilometers. Wheelchair users or people with other physical disabilities should consider for themselves whether they can manage this route through the old town.

A scavenger hunt usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. However, the exact duration depends on various factors, such as how quickly the participants move through the city on foot, how long they linger at the sights and how quickly they can solve the puzzles.

Normally, about half of the time is allocated to walking and the other half to solving the puzzles. However, it is possible to take breaks at any time and continue playing later.

At the beginning of the game you will receive a QR code and a link to a page with our special city map, where the puzzle stations are marked. You are free to choose the way there. You can call up the QR code on a second device and then have one device with the game and one with the city map. If you only have one smartphone available, simply open the link in a separate tab.

Each puzzle has three hints with varying degrees of help. The first hint tells you whether you are in the right place and where you should look. The second hint gives you a solution to the puzzle that will help you further. If it still doesn't work, the third hint will give you the specific solution.

In the email with the access data, we will give you instructions on what to do in the event of technical problems.
